A traditional Hindu ceremony, in Lalitpur (Patan), the third largest city of the Kathmandu Valley, located just across the Bagmati River from the capital, Kathmandu.
Nepali weddings are usually comprised of several days' worth of events, from the official day of engagement, to a day of gift-giving, and then the wedding ceremony, itself an all-day affair.
Platanos, Thessaly, Greece (April 1993)
A traditional Easter wedding in Platanos, a small village in Thessaly, central Greece. Beginning at the bride's home in the morning, the wedding party marches through the streets to the church, followed by a celebration on the village plaza with the entire village, marked by a traditional band and endless dancing. A more formal dinner reception at a nearby hall follows later in the evening, lasting well into the night. Also available with such international packages are images of cultural highlights, holiday celebrations, and environmental portraits of friends and family.
